- A If a fire is detected in the Busway tunnels, the Busway Operations Centre (BOC) will activate the deluge systems in the area of the fire and QFRS will be notified. Depending on the location of the fire and directions given by the BOC, bus drivers may stop the bus and direct passengers to disembark the bus and exit the tunnel via the egress passages. Within the tunnels and egress passages, PA messages will be played directing passengers to evacuate the tunnel.

- A There are 24 jet fans mounted on the roof of the Northern Busway tunnels that are used to draw air through the tunnels. In normal operation the air is directed in a northerly direction.
