A major upgrade of the existing airport roundabout will deliver a long-term solution for reducing traffic congestion at Airport Drive and the intersection of East-West Arterial Road and Nudgee Road.
BrisConnections is the successful contractor appointed to design and construct the project and has developed a concept design for the project.
The main features of the upgrade include:
• new four-lane fly-over linking the East-West Arterial Road with Airport Drive
• existing roundabout replaced by signalised intersection
• widening of the East-West Arterial Road from two to three lanes each way, and
• lane widening and surface road improvements to Airport Drive.
