Project Change

Project Change Process

Airport Link

During the construction of Airport Link one significant change to the project has been submitted to the Coordinator-General regarding the development of an additional worksite at Rose Street, Wooloowin.

Once an application for Project Change is made, the process under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 is followed for the Coordinator-General to evaluate that change and prepare a Change Report.

The application describes the proposed changes and its effects on the project, the reasons for the changes, and includes enough information about the impacts of the changes to allow the Coordinator-General to determine the extent to which further public consultation on the proposed changes if required.

The Coordinator-General may seek information and comments, including inviting public submissions on the proposed changes and its effects on the project, from the proponent, advisory agencies and other entities or individuals.

The Coordinator-General is obliged to evaluate the nature of the proposed change and its effect on the project; the environmental effects of the proposed change and all properly made submissions.

The Coordinator-General then prepares the Change Report in which the proposed change is accepted or rejected. This report may state conditions or make recommendations including amending any conditions or recommendations previously set down.
