A mainly underground toll road planned between Brisbane's northern suburbs, the airport and the inner city.

Connecting the Inner Northern Busway to Bracken Ridge via Windsor, Lutwyche, Kedron, Chermside and Aspley.

A significant upgrade of the existing airport roundabout, including a new flyover, will deliver a long-term solution for reducing traffic congestion.

 

Airport Link is a mainly underground toll road planned between Brisbane’s northern suburbs, the airport and the inner city that will deliver:

  • high-speed underground travel
  • free-flowing travel, bypassing up to 16 traffic lights
  • reduced congestion on key surface roads
  • improved air quality from less traffic congestion.

Airport Link will be delivered with the Windsor to Kedron section of the Northern Busway. 

The Northern Busway will connect the Inner Northern Busway at Herston to Bracken Ridge via Windsor, Lutwyche, Kedron, Chermside and Aspley and will:

  • offer congestion-free travel
  • cater for 47,000 trips per day in 2016
  • cater for a bus every 30 seconds in peak hour in 2016
  • help reduce congestions, pollution and traffic noise.

More about the Northern Busway

The Airport Roundabout Upgrade will deliver a long-term solution for reducing traffic congestion at Airport Drive and the intersection of East-West Arterial Road and Nudgee Road.  It will:

  • save 10 minutes travelling to and from the airport
  • replace the roundabout with a congestion-busting interchange
  • deliver a new fly-over above the upgraded interchange.
